Historic Restoration & Preservation
Careful, structurally sound restoration of historic buildings — including a 150+ year old chapel on the National Historic Registry in Murphy, NC.
Harshaw Chapel — 150+ years old, and still standing straight
First United Methodist Church of Murphy, NC brought W's AllWorks in to restore Harshaw Chapel, a building more than 150 years old and listed on the National Historic Registry. That listing changes everything about how a job is run: the original fabric of the building matters as much as the finished result.
The work included removing the original roof system, helping the church salvage the original timbers, installing a new roof, rebuilding the steeple, and re-hanging the bell. As the pastor put it, Wolfgang was "experienced and confident in working with a historic building and the sensitivity that takes in the construction process."
Why this matters for your historic property
Very few general contractors have completed a restoration on a Registry-listed structure. If you own an older home, a church, or a barn worth keeping, you need someone who knows when to replace and when to preserve — and who will handle the original material like it can't be bought again, because it can't.
